Set up the check-in tablet and QR rail
The front desk has two ways to check people in: members scan a class QR code and tap their own name, or we check anyone in from the check-in rail. Here is how to set up both.
- Pick a tablet. Use any tablet with a web browser at the front desk. Stand it where members can reach it so they can check themselves in, and keep the browser open on the class check-in screen.
- Open a class check-in screen. Every class has its own public check-in page at a /checkin web address. Open that page on the tablet for the class that is on now.
- Show the class QR code. Each class has its own QR code on the instructor view, shown while the check-in window is open. Display it on the tablet or by the door so members can scan straight to that class's check-in page.
- Let members check themselves in. On the check-in screen a member taps their name in the roster. Check-in only works inside the window, which opens a set number of minutes before the class and closes once it ends.
- Open the check-in rail. For staff-driven check-in, open the check-in rail from the app. Scan a member card or search a name to pull up that member's plan, credits, and today's classes.
- Check in or book a walk-in. Tap Check in for a booked member, or Book and check in to add a walk-in and check them in together. Today's appointments show here too, with a Mark arrived button for each.
- Watch the register update. Every check-in flips the booking to checked in and updates the class register straight away, so we always know who is in the room.
Good to know
- The check-in screen turns away early scans and ended classes on purpose. If a status looks wrong, the instructor can correct it on their end.
- If a card scans but is not one of our members, the rail flags it, so search by name instead.
